The Chicago Tactical "G10" Watch Band
The Chicago Tactical "G10" Watch Band
In 1973, the British Ministry of Defense commissioned a durable kevlar watch band that would stay on a soldiers wrist even if a lug pin were to break on the battlefield. For soldiers to acquire such a band from the Ministry, they had to fill out a special form known as the G1098 or "G10" for short thus providing the band with its namesake. Over the years the style has become increasingly popular among civilians and demand for the band to be fabricated out of more luxurious materials such as leather has skyrocketed. The Chicago Tactical "G10" draws its name from the Horween "Chicago" Latigo leather from which it is crafted and is an ambitious reinterpretation of the original G10 supplied to the British forces. Though more sophisticated in appearance, this watch band is almost as rugged as its military counterpart. The band features 5 brushed stainless steel rings, a matching brushed stainless steel screw in Pre-Vendome buckle and a duel ring interlocking system designed to keep pressure off the lug pins in the event of a snag or sudden pull. Whether you're looking for style, practicality or just looking to simply pay tribute to the British military, this watch band won't let you down.
